The tenth annual Clarendon Arts Festival continues the community’s rich art traditions on October 27 and 28 at the Donley County Activity Center located one mile north of the city on State Hwy. 70.
The event, sponsored by Clarendon’s Les Beaux Arts Club, opens to the public Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., and art of local students will also be on display to showcase the talent of the kids. Concessions will be provided by the VFW Auxiliary.
The arts festival continues Saturday night with the Preferred Buyers Reception held from 6:00 to 9:00, where buyers will be delighted with the variety of art being offered at the festival.
Anyone is welcome at the reception; and if you haven’t pre-paid as a preferred buyer, you can pay that night at the door. Buyers also enjoy the heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by the ladies of Les Beaux Arts Club and presented in the most elegant style.
Sunday the arts festival resumes at 11 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. Those attending on Sunday can enjoy the famous Annual Enchilada Dinner prepared by the members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
In addition to the art show, there are many hand-constructed items for sale at the festival.
With all the fine art and crafts available, everyone should be able to find a unique gift or treasure. For information, call 806-654-2993.
