CEDC Façade Grants

The Clarendon Economic Development Corporation offers two programs designed to assist property owners and businesses with improvements to their storefronts.

The Traditional Façade Grant Program provides up to $2,000 in matching funds that can be used for almost any improvement to a storefront. The program was begun in 2008 and ran for ten years before going on hiatus. It was reactivated in January 2022. Examples of previously funded projects include a simple coat of paint to new signage to awnings to complete storefront renovations. Prior approval must be received before a project begins. Complete guidelines for the Traditional Façade Grant Program are available here.

The Historic Façade Grant Program was approved in 2018 to encourage preservation and restoration of historic buildings in the Central Business District. The program seeks to promote heritage tourism while encouraging improvement to historic properties. The program provides matching funds for up to 80 percent of the actual, eligible costs up to a maximum grant amount of $400 per linear foot of the storefront (i.e. $10,000 for a 25-foot storefront or $20,000 for a 50-foot storefront). The Historic Facade Grant guidelines and application are available by clicking here. For more information, contact CEDCsecretary@gmail.com or write to CEDC, PO Box 826, Clarendon, TX 79226.
