Prospect
Park, three blocks south of US 287 on Kearney Street between Sixth and
Seventh Streets. Features include picnic tables, a covered pavilion,
barbecue grills, swings, slides, climbers, and the handicapped
accessible Lions Club Chance Mark Jones Memorial Playground. A public
restroom is available to be opened for special events. Contact City
Hall.
The City of Clarendon also provides a lighted walking
trail from the park to the Central Business District and, in cooperation
with the school district, baseball and softball fields are adjacent to
Prospect Park, and public tennis and basketball courts are on the school
campus at Fifth and Allen Streets.

Trash / Recycling
Recycling
Dumpsters are available to receive small quantities for public use 24/7
at First and Kearney Streets. Larger loads, general trash, and limbs
and grass clippings can be taken to the Citizens Convenience Center at
400 W. Front Street (next to the grain elevator) during the hours of
11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday. The city also offers temporary
Dumpster and roll-off container services. Call City Hall for more info.
Cost to Dump:
Citizens
of Clarendon may dump tree limbs and grass clippings free of charge.
Most metals can also be dumped free of charge. Other charges are defined
by Ordinance as follows:
Pick-up or Car load: $6
Two-Wheel Trailer load: $12
Stock Trailer load: $25
Large Trailer load: $35
Appliances w/ compressor: $15
Tree Limbs (for profits): $20
Dump Truck load: $50
Mattress: $20
